Testosterone is the male hormone responsible for a man's libido or sex drive, erections, muscle mass, bone strength, and over all sense of well-being. The use of testosterone in men with prostate cancer is controversial. However, there are certain men with prostate cancer who may be candidates for testosterone replacement therapy if they are willing to be monitored on a regular basis with PSA testing.
