Many people have general misunderstandings about the term hypogonadism, thinking it's just a fancy term for low testosterone, but actually it's a broad name for a class of dimnished function in the gonads (testes in men and ovaries in woman). There are numerous variations of hypogonadism, with really long tongue-twisting names, for example: hypergonadotropic, hypogonadotropic and isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

Another descriptive diagnosis for low testosterone is Androgen Deficiency Syndrome or hypoandrogenism.  Androgen Deficiency more accurately described is a medical disease associated with problematic or diminished androgen functionality. This being said, it is not inaccurate to clinically diagnose testosterone deficiency as hypogonadism, in the same way it is not inaccurate to diagnose skin, breast, or brain cancers, as simply cancer. This being said however, there are much more precise sub classes of hypogonadism, but for the purposes of this article we are going to simply deal with the best ways of treating low testosterone.

Among the differing types of treatments for the low testosterone variety of hypogonadism or androgen deficiency syndome, injectable testosterone is one of the best solutions. This is because compared to testosterone cream and gels, which are applied daily, testosterone injections can be done once every several days. Creams and gels can be cumbersome for variety of reasons, whereas injections can be really easy to administer. Testosterone injections with aromatase inhibitors and HCG has given many men their life back.

Testosterone injections are a great way to restore testosterone levels in men with this androgen deficiency.  It's easy to forget that Testosterone is one of the most important hormones for well being, like Growth Hormone it is really one of the essential and core hormones required for vitality. This is not in anyway to diminish other hormones, because the entire body works synergistically.

Some people don't feel the motivation get medical treatment for testosterone deficiency, believing it to just be a natural part of life and this is because of a lack of understanding as to why this androgen is so important. Many new clinical studies are indicating that testosterone is very important in protecting people from cardiovascular disease or osteoporosis. There is a stigma about testosterone that it's all about muscles, but it actually effects many major areas of the body, like the brain, giving people a sense of well being, motivation, and risk taking. Of course too much testosterone can lead to very risky sexual behavior, acne explosions and anger management issues.

One thing that is too common with people who are prescribed testosterone is that when people start feeling good they decide to up the dose, this is the fastest way to side effects. Physicians prescribe optimal dosing, not body building doses and there is a difference.
