Testosterone is an important hormone for general well being, in both men AND women. After puberty, testosterone stay at an optimum level until the mid thirties. It then starts to decline every year. The drop may be so insidious that one likely doesn #39;t realize their hormone levels have dropped. Contrast this with menopause, when estrogen levels drop, it is fairly dramatic, and women clearly know when they are going thru menopause. The symptoms of low T are often assumed to be due to getting older. Fatigue, weight gain, low libido and performance, getting fatter, physically weaker and poor recovery from injury and exercise can all be symptoms of low T. Replacing testosterone to optimal levels can reverse these symptoms if they are due to low T.
